He guides business owners, professionals, and retirees in the areas of comprehensive financial planning, education planning and money management. Steve is a registered Advisor with the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), a former member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and the Sports Financial Advisors Association. In addition, he has undergone extensive advanced training in client services with Coach Bill Bachrach to distinguish himself as a Trusted Advisor. Steve received further training from "the father of life planning", George Kinder. He understands the need clients have to integrate the financial aspects of their lives with their rest of their lives. He offers an integrated holistic planning approach.
Steve was listed as among "America's Top Financial Planners" in 2006-2007 with the independent consumer group, Consumer Research Institute. He was a contributing book author of Tips from the Tops, (Targeted Advice from America's Top Money Minds) by Alpha Books. In addition, he has made numerous media appearances and he has often been quoted in various media such as Kiplinger's, Bloomberg Personal Finance, the Wall Street Journal, Financial Advisor Magazine, AARP Magazine, as well as an appearance on the cover of Investment Advisor Magazine.
History
Steven D. Wightman, CFP, CTM began working in the financial industry in 1971 as a life insurance underwriter with Mutual Life of New York. In this capacity, Steve assessed client needs and wrote insurance covering life, health and disability of individuals and business owners. Moreover, Steve co-founded the Lexington chapter of the Business Network International and grew it to a 25-member organization.
Steve Wightman has been a Certified Financial Planner since 1995 and has been working in Wightman Financial Network, LLC since helping individuals and organizations build a strong financial foundation so that they may reach milestones and live fuller lives.
Military leadership: Beginning in 1966, he served over 20 years in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Army Commendation and Army Achievement Medals.
